On Tuesday, September 6th, Lance and I had an appointment with the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialists at Good Samaritan Hospital. We were referred to the group by my Doctor at For Women Inc. Dr. Kessler told us she could no longer be objective when it comes to advising us to have any future babies. Lance and I are no way ready to get pregnant again right now, but would like to be educated on all of the risks of having another child.
Dr. Kessler recommended Donna Lambers MD, but we were seen by Michael Marcotte Md. Dr. Marcotee reviewed my medical history including past pregnancies and deliveries as well as my families medical history. We met with him for an hour. He did not encourage or discourage us in having another baby. However he explained that I would have an increased risk of...premature labor, a placenta abruption, and the placenta not embedding correctly.
Currently, Lance and I both would like to have one more baby, but based on this new knowledge we have decided to wait a year, pray about it and then decide.
We started this blog as a way to update our family and friends on our preemie, Parker. After Parker passed away, Lance and I decided that it was important to continue the blog as a family journal. We are always up to something!
