35 Weeks!

Okay so I am totally jumping the gun, because I'm not technically 35 weeks until tomorrow. I am doing great and am so happy this pregnancy has gone so well. I had a doctors appointment on Monday and everything looks wonderful. I am right where I am suppose to be as far as my progress and tummy size. Now, my "behind/butt" size is another story. Wow!

What does 35 weeks mean exactly. Well full term is 37 weeks, so I have two more weeks to go. Most of the baby's basic development is now complete. The next few weeks is mainly for putting on weight on the little guy. If the baby was born now it would likely not have the long list of preemie issues.

Father's Day Fort Building

This evening the girls enjoyed a fort that Mommy built out of four quilts we purchased at an auction on Friday. We haven't been to an auction in a couple of years. Friday there was one right up the street so we didn't want to miss it. Plus there wasn't a buyers premium. A buyers premium is when they tack on an extra percentage to your bid to pay for the auctioneer. So annoying! Anymore, it is rare to find an auction without a buyers premium.

We did really well. I will post some pictures this week. The girls had a blast, but they had trouble keeping up with the auctioneer and could not figure out why he had to talk so fast.

Happy Father's Day to all the Father's out there!

I have been blessed with a father that loves me. If there is one thing I am sure of, I am definitely sure of that. He loves me in spite of my flaws. He let me become who I needed to become only interfering when needed. He let me make mistakes and taught me how to repent and get back on the straight and narrow. Growing up, the one thing I remember most about my dad is his quotes every time I left the house to go out with my friends. "Remember who you are" was one of his favorites. The rest were all Winston Churchill.

My Dad is a good man. That is why I married someone very similar to him. Lance is much like my father in terms of how he is with his own daughters. They are his world and He is theirs. There is no gender boundaries on household chores and Lance is one of the hardest workers that I know...very much like my own father. I learned so much from my Dad growing up. He taught me how to refinish furniture and make dry wall repairs and paint houses to perfection. All skills that I am glad to know and enjoy using.

I know as the girls get older they are going to have a very similar relationship to their father. I am proud to see my husband so engaged and committed to his family. My husband is an amazing man and I am so glad he choose me to be his wife. I am looking forward to spending eternity with him.

I am also very humble today thinking about my Father in Heaven. I know that he remembers me and my needs. I know that he loves me. I am grateful for my relationship with him and am grateful for prayer to help me to continue to build my relationship with him. Happy Father's Day today and every day.

With Love - Lindsey

Laney had her tonsils and adenoids removed on Friday. She did such a good job. She was so brave. While we were waiting to go back Laney made a cute little bracelet which helped calm her nerves. The procedure took very little time. Within 20minutes the Dr. came out to talk to us. Then Lance and I had just enough time to run down to the gift shot to get Laney a cute little stuffed monkey. She grabbed and hugged it as soon as she saw it.

I was so glad I got to go to the hospital with my little girl. I was able to use a wheel chair making it possible. It would have been way too much walking if I didn't have a chair.

Pregnancy Update
I am now 32 weeks...we are getting there. I am feeling good, but I am sleeping all the time now. I get my best sleep after Lance leaves in the morning with the girls. I get a solid two hours of hard core sleep before I need to log on to get my computer. It has been so nice, especially having such a long period of sleep deprivation. I know it's not going to last much longer so I better enjoy it while I can.

Faith

This year the Young Women from my church chose me as a person that exemplifies the value of Faith. What an awesome recognition. I have been completed humbled by the honor. I do not feel like I am doing anything different than the next person. My faith and Lance would probably say the same thing...our faith is who we are! We are "glass full" type of of people and know that if we stay on the straight and narrow and keep the eye on the price things will eventually work out. President Thomas S. Monson said, "Be of good cheer. The future is as bright as your faith."

This months visiting teaching message was also on Faith. "Face the Future with Faith" I absolutely fell in love with this quote by Russell M. Nelson (Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles) "We live to die, and we die to live again. From an eternal perspective, the only death that is truly premature is the death of one who is not prepared to meet God." Wow! That really puts things into perspective with the death of Preemie Parker in October of 2009.

I hope that I will always be an example of faith especially for my own children, because like Russell M. Nelson said, "Our faith now becomes part of our posterity's faith later."

"Faith is not to have perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true." - Alma 32:21
