Parker's First Bottle

Thanks Crystal for the pictures and for being there for the first feeding. We need to get some pictures of Holly as well...so Parker can remember his two primary/favorite nurses.

Many FIRSTs for Parker!!!!

Message Sent to me from Parker's Nurse

Message:
He took it all!!!!....29ml. Get ready for him to come home soon.

Wonderful

Parker is doing so wonderful...I have nothing to write. He is now 3lbs 4 oz. They keep increasing his breast milk so he is now up to 29 ml. They keep lowering the temperature of his bed. Tonight they said he could possibly be out of the incubator and in an open crib by the end of this week. This coming up Friday he will be the adjusted age of 33 weeks. The nurses have said that they will start trying to feed him with a bottle between 33 - 34 weeks gestation. I have a feeling that we are going to start seeing some very big changes with Parker in the next couple of weeks...which is very exciting.

I definitely have a cold. It is very frustrating. It could always be worse, but it stinks not being able to see Parker. I can't take any chances with getting him sick. He is going to be my little bubble boy for the next two years. The nurses have all encouraged me to keep him out of public spaces for two years, because his lungs are not going to be that great. A common cold could kill him.

3 pounds 1 ounce - Yeah!

I was pulled over on the way to the hospital yesterday morning. I totally used Parker as an excuse...well the officer asked where I was going and I told her. I think she felt sorry for me so she was nice enough to let me go. Out of all the times I have been pulled over for speeding this one was the most pleasurable. The officer made her point without being a jerk. I really had no idea I was going as fast as I was. 51 in a 35...oppps!!! (I was going down the hill towards the river...It was entrapment!)

When I got to the hospital it was really hectic. They had 6 new babies in the NICU and had to call in extra nurses for the day. I was able to hold Parker for a little while, but he didn't do as good as he typically does...I think because it was so noisy. He dropped his heart rate 6 times when I was there.

Last night when Lance and I called to check on Parker the nurse said he just hit 3 lbs 1 oz. Yeah!! He is finally 3 pounds. I was so excited to here that he had reached the 3 pound mark. Today is another mile stone. I would have been 32 weeks today.

I will not be able to see Parker today. I woke up with a little bit of a runny nose. I think it is just allergies, but don't want to chance it. The nurse when I called this morning said for me to take Emergen-C Experitox she said it will boost my immune system. I will let you know if it works.

2 lbs 15 oz

Well...we are getting there. Parker is 2 lbs 15 oz. He had a very good evening. At his 9:00pm feed he decided not to go back to sleep for 2 hours. This is the most he has been awake at one time. I wish I could have been there. He is so cute when he is awake.

Pictures from The Farm

Laney and Samantha on Great Grandpa's Cub Cadet.

Megan and I took all of the little ones for a ride in the boat. After going in circles for several minutes I took the oars from Megan. The kids had a blast and Megan and I got our exercise.

Roasting marshmallows with Grandma. Yum! Yum!

Check out Laney's catfish!!! Laney reeled it in the whole way...Good job Laney!!!

UPDATE ON PARKER - Parker is doing great this evening. He is done with all of his antibiotics...YEAH!!!! They have aslo decided to stop giving him caffeine. It takes three to four days to get the caffeine out of his system so by Friday we should know if he will be able to breath fine on his own with out the little boost of caffeine he has been given daily.
