Camping and Fishing at The Farm

Erin and I were talking and when I turned around I caught Logan and Samantha fighting.Samantha and Logan sitting in time out.Laney caught a snapping turtle. We had such a good time that five minutes after leaving the farm on Saturday afternoon, the girls feel fast asleep. It was a wonderful weekend. August 12th and 13th - My Grandparents have a beautiful farm near Brookville, Indiana. We grew up going to the farm often during the summer months. Friday, my sister Erin and her boys went out to the farm early in the morning. When it was time to leave, the boys were not ready to go. When they finally got home, Erin and I talked about going back to the farm after our husbands got off of work to camp. We arrived at the farm around 7:00pm. We had just enough time to set up the tents, do a little fishing and eat dinner (KFC), before the sun went down. We then enjoyed making smores by the fire.

It was a little bit of a rough night. I believe we got up around six times for bathroom trips and to feed the baby. Camping on a Friday night is a smart move, because you have the rest of the weekend to recover if you do not get the best nights sleep. Overall, it was the perfect weekend for camping and spending time with the cousins before school starts.

Cleaning up the Dump Piles

Well it is going to take many many years to clean up the farm we purchased back in Febuary of this year. We bought the farm when there was snow on the ground so we didn't realize how much trash was on the property. We also asked them if there was anything buried or a dump pile and they said "NO". We have found trash all over the place. The creek is covered in glass from old windows, scrap metal, old bottles, tires, and everyday trash. It will be interesting what more we find after all of the leaves fall and there is less underbrush.

The girls have really enjoyed helping me clean the place up. I hear them yelling from down in the creek...I just found a spoon...I just found another tire...ect. We have already spent hours removing the trash, but I hear my children say how much fun it is. I already am seeing the benifits of raising my children outside of a neighborhood on a peice of property. Hopefully they will continue to show me their strong work ethic and love working hard as much as Lance and I do.

Sleep Over

My sister Erin and I wanted to get the kids together for a sleep over before everyone had to go back to school, so on August 2nd they all came to our place to stay the night. We had such a good time. Then on Wednesday we all went to Lance's Aunt Peachies house for a pool party. When we were done swimming the kids were still not done playing together, so we went back to our place. I purchased these little cubes of sand that had buried dinosaur bones in them. They each had to excavate the sand to uncover each of the bones for their specific dinosaur. They were so cute and quite. They worked on this project for 2 hours. They loved doing the "Dinosaur Dig" and Erin and I enjoyed the peace and quite.

and the newest name for Bradley...

"A whole lot of Delicious."

Today, we went to my Doctors for my follow up and to discuss our future family planning. Dr. Kessler came in and scooped up Mr. Bradley and gave him his newest name... "a whole lot of Delicious." I think that is his best name so far. What do you think?

Besides my follow up from having the baby, Dr. Kessler wanted to discuss me having more children. Now I tell you this and ask for no judgement towards our future decision to have or not to have more children. She said that she has great concern if I get pregnant again. My last two pregnancy's have ended in abruptions. She said abruptions are very abnormal and have nothing to do with activity level or the fact that my last two children have both been boys. She also wanted me to know that they have ruled out other issues I may have like Lupus or some other type of disorder.

Lance asked the Dr. if her concern was for my life or for the life of any future children. She said that I would be at a higher risk for a repeat of having another abruption resulting in the loss of another child. So her concern would be for any future babies. Ultimately she said that she can not be objective so she has referred me to a high risk Dr. to review my chart and provide Lance and I with more information to make a good educated decision. She said in the mean time she would like to see me on birth control until I meet with the high risk Doctor.

You may be thinking that I am totally crazy for even thinking about having more children right now, but I am such a planner that I want to know what all the risks are now. I have to know everything so I can wrap my brain around this being my last child or having one more child with the possibility of having a child with issues or one that doesn't make it.

So that is where we are at right now. Of course I will keep you posted.

A Boy of many names

Bradley will be one month old on Wednesday. He already is a boy of many names.

Mr. Bradley, The Boy, Parker, Brady (oops), Brother, Baby Bradley

And a few not so nice names such as...slug, tick and leech. These names come as a result of "Mr. Bradley" wanting to nurse every hour and a half. Yuck!

Clermont County Fair - Summer 2011

Lance with our good friend Chris. We called Chris to join us at the fair. Chris usually goes to all of the fairs, because he has horses that he shows. The girls always want to ride the pony's!The girls walked right by this "statue" not realizing he was real.

Unfortunately, this ride has Laney going to the chiropractor tomorrow afternoon for her neck. During the ride we saw her laughing and then crying and holding her neck. She must have pulled a muscle.

Laney was in the stall with Samantha until another little girl told her she was standing in cow poop. She quickly ran out of the barn, but it didn't faze Samantha. She was too intrigued. Samantha trying to kiss a goat.

A goat trying to kiss Laney.

Saturday, July 30th our family met up with Chris Yarmark and one of his son's Cole at the Fair Grounds. We went late in the evening. I believe we got there around 7:30pm in hopes to avoid the hot sun. It wasn't too bad. It was hot, but we had a lot of fun so it was worth it.
