Last Wednesday (August 17th) was Samantha's (kind of) first day of school. In New Richmond they bring in the Kindergartens before the beginning of the school year to do all of the testing for Kindergarten. The results of these tests and the behavior of the students, helps the teachers determine the classrooms.
Laney's first day of school was last Thursday, August 18th. She was so ready to go back to school. It was also nice to have some semi-alone time with Samantha. On Friday, Samantha, Bradley and me were able to a few yard sales after drooping Laney off at school.
On Monday, August 22nd we had Samantha's open house and on Tuesday it was her first day of Kindergarten. I now have two school agers...wow! Samantha was miss independent. I told Laney in the car to walk Samantha to her classroom before going to her own. Samantha said...I know were my classroom is Mom.

Samantha had a little bit of nervousness going on...you could see it all over her face.
The new routine has been set. Bradley and I take the girls to school in the morning. They have to be there by 8:55am. In the afternoon, I get the girls off the bus at The Ringhand's house at 4:20pm. So far so good.

Erin and I were talking and when I turned around I caught Logan and Samantha fighting.

Laney caught a snapping turtle.

We had such a good time that five minutes after leaving the farm on Saturday afternoon, the girls feel fast asleep. It was a wonderful weekend.
August 12th and 13th - My Grandparents have a beautiful farm near Brookville, Indiana. We grew up going to the farm often during the summer months. Friday, my sister Erin and her boys went out to the farm early in the morning. When it was time to leave, the boys were not ready to go. When they finally got home, Erin and I talked about going back to the farm after our husbands got off of work to camp. We arrived at the farm around 7:00pm. We had just enough time to set up the tents, do a little fishing and eat dinner (KFC), before the sun went down. We then enjoyed making smores by the fire.

Well it is going to take many many years to clean up the farm we purchased back in Febuary of this year. We bought the farm when there was snow on the ground so we didn't realize how much trash was on the property. We also asked them if there was anything buried or a dump pile and they said "NO". We have found trash all over the place. The creek is covered in glass from old windows, scrap metal, old bottles, tires, and everyday trash. It will be interesting what more we find after all of the leaves fall and there is less underbrush.
