Last night Parker had to be bagged for 9 minutes when his heart rate dropped after a position change. His heart rate came back up right away, but his oxygen saturation rate took a while. This happened around 4:00am.
The plan for today is to keep Parker on his gentamicin and cefataxime for his infection, phenobarbital for his seizures. The dopamine for his urine output has been stopped which indicates that his fluid intake and output are being managed correctly. Zantac has been added to his TPN to help his belly aggravation from the replogle tube. The last chest x-ray had minimal changes for the better. His platelet count is 109.
It will take 7 days to determine if this is in fact the same ecoli as before, these samples are sent to the Ohio Dept of Health.
They have ordered another EEG to get a baseline for his brain function. They are hearing belly sounds again which is also a good sign.
Hold to faith... He can get Parker through this. Trust in God's Will.
